As I entered the fabled Mecca of high stakes poker, Bobbys Room at the Bellagio Hotel & Resort in. I found the players to be pretentious and obnoxious and I didn't get much out of the boot camp (my fault, I'm sure) but I'm glad we went. World Poker Tour Boot Camp & Bobbys Room. They have a special dinner with Mike and Vince. They hold the boot camp and tournaments in the conference space down on deck 3. I got my very first royal flush in a live game while on this cruise ! Of course, it was just me and one other guy in the hand so I hardly won anything ($80 I think !) but it was very exciting. One interesting thing happened on this cruise. They could not have been nicer guys - especially Mike Sexton. What I DID enjoy about it was spending time with Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patton. I'm sure others got more out of it than I did. The only thing I remember from the poker boot camp was that, '.you must put your opponent to a meaningful decision.'. If you are a serious player and really want to learn how to take peoples' money, this might be fun for you. I guess I don't have that 'killer instinct' so I got very little out of the poker boot camp. Boot Camps cost 1,500 for a two-day camp and 3,000 for a 'champions event.

I really enjoyed the fact that there were a lot of poker players on this cruise (sometimes you cannot even get enough people together to play a cash game.not a problem on this cruise !!) but I also discovered that I really don't LIKE hard core poker players !! The hard core players were so intense. World Poker Tour events (the camp is owned by former corporate-training. I mean, if close to the money bubble or the next major jump in pays, I might be more inclined to let the other two knock themselves out, and get paid, rather than risking it all by calling a 3-bet all in.My husband and I went on this cruise back in 2012 but it was on Freedom. As MTTS are survival, I would have to decide where I was before I tried that one. One other thing that did surprise me was a recommendation to call a 3 way all in with a straight flush draw, and not to the nuts either. Now, if only I could find an online game where they followed these 'recommendations' (lol). And it's not exactly going to help you in those 'sticky' situations, but it is really good at pointing out the basics, everything from C-betting to poker odds. That being said, I think it's a great tool, but you have to watch out for these errors. In one, It counted the outs correctly, only It said '4-9's and 4 aces', which was flat out wrong! Some of sentences were horribly off. I like it, but was surprised at some of the errors in the text portion (where it explains the what and why of what you just did). I just downloaded some iphone Apps from the WPT boot camp, they have a series of 'poker trainers'.
